Bairro Alto

Laid out in 1513, Bairro Alto is a neighborhood that truly changes from day to night. By day, this bohemian district is a place inhabited by elderly people and young artists, giving an atmosphere that is both traditional and avant-garde. By night, in “Bairro”, a new bohemian life begins, with bars and restaurants opening their doors and the street party atmosphere begins, mixing different urban tribes, straight and gay.

Established in 1936, Carioca handles the entire process of making coffee beans, from green beans to roasting and grinding. On the shelves of wooden cabinets, you can find loose and packed tea (over 80 varieties), chocolates, candy, and accessories to go along with that strong Portuguese expresso.
