Muriel Olivares and Tiffany Noé are arguably the grand dames of urban agriculture in Miami. The duo operate a garden, farm, and nursery (the latter of which is located in Little River), as well as create and tend to private and restaurant gardens throughout Miami. The sites are open by appointment only, with the exception of programs and seasonal seedling sales held at the nursery (a must-attend for anyone attempting their own garden in the unique agricultural climate of South Florida.) For those wishing to sample Little River Cooperative's 40 varieties of organically-grown vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers year-round, a CSA program is offered. You can also find the duo at the Upper East Side Farmer's Market every Saturday selling their own fare, as well as Zak The Baker bread, pasture-raised eggs, and plants. Curious about the fruit trees in your (or your neighbor's) back yard? Pick up a copy of "Forager", co-authored by Noé and published by Miami's own Jai Alai Books.
