Barrio Logan

Barrio Logan has long been a colorful bastion for the working-class Mexican and Chicano community in San Diego. Today it still holds strong to these roots, while embracing and also resisting aspects of change. Despite hotly debated questions surrounding gentrification, Barrio Logan is rapidly being recognized for much more than the world-class murals painted on the undercarriage of the Coronado Bridge. Long gone are the days of Barrio Logan being perceived as a strictly Mexican and industrial neighborhood. Barrio now embraces an ethnically diverse group of residents, artists, businesses, and institutions.

Beautiful atmosphere under the Coronado bridge, with amazing murals that are a symbol of cultural solidarity, and political strength in the community. If you're lucky enough to be there in April for Chicano Park Day, you'll be treated to a colorful array of sights, smells, sounds, and low-rider cars.
