Downtown

The Emerald City’s downtown corridor is home to the mother of all farmer’s markets, the world’s first Starbucks, and a unique blend of independent specialty shops, bars, and restaurants. Navigate through the one-way streets and busy crowds to visit some of our favorite hidden gems, not-so-hidden landmarks, and to discover just part of what makes this town so great.

You can get books at any of Seattle’s 30-or-so neighborhood branches, but the Central Library is a must-see for first-time Seattle visitors, literate or not. For locals, it is also a serene and quiet place to get work done Downtown. The Central Library made the list, however, because of its insane architecture and design. There are so many colorful floors to explore and glass for days… ceilings, walls, and floors letting in tons of natural light. The meeting room level is our favorite, but the entire building is a Seattle landmark.
