Rough, off-beat and beautiful, Darlinghurst encapsulates urban life in Sydney. This whole-in-the-wall neighbourhood used to house Sydney's most infamous crime gang, the Razors. Today it offers some of the city's best small bars and Italian restaurants. If you're lucky, you can (probably) still grab a piccolo with Australia's version of Tony Soprano.

BIG BIG sandwiches for when you're really hungry. Friendly (but hard core!) sandwich makers greet you and make you up a brick sized wedge. Our favourite's the chicken schnitzel.
