Cabbagetown

One of the east side art districts, Cabbagetown sits adjacent to Atlanta's oldest graveyard, Oakland Cemetery. Built in the late 1800's, this historic district is the location of the South's first textile mills, the Fulton Bag and Cotton Mill. And like most mill towns, the streets are extremely narrow, with short blocks and many intersections. Perfect setup for an artsy spot with hot real estate.

Forward Warrior is an artist driven, live painting performance that seeks to bring artists and communities together to create large scale murals over a two day event. In 2016, 36 of Atlanta's most progressive, forward thinking artists collaborated on a huge public wall in Cabbagetown. The wall stretches down Wylie Street past Krog Tunnel. Bonus points: morning commuters stuck at the Krog tunnel have something to look at for a while.
