Prenzlauer Berg

Cobble stones and tree-lined streets barely scratch the surface of what Prenzlauer Berg has on offer. Overflowing with restaurants, cafes, bars and boutiques, the neighbourhood is just a short cycle from the city centre yet warrants no reason to leave. While Prenzlauer Berg is one of Berlin’s more gentrified areas, it still encapsulates the gritty charm that visitors and locals alike can’t seem to get enough of.

Prenzlauer Berg locals love to shop, buying fresh produce weekly while enjoying a hot cup of coffee or squeezed orange juice. Held every Saturday at Kollwitzplatz, take a walk through the stalls and pick up a warm baguette, a modest bouquet of field blooms and delicious fruit and veg. With some luck you’ll be there during Spargel season, when people absolutely lose their asparagus over asparagus.
