Fort Point

Named for a colonial-era fort of cannons that once protected the harbor, Fort Point was first developed in the 1830s. 19th century buildings, once used for the manufacture & storage of trade goods like wool, became home to a community of artists known as the Fort Point Arts Community. A popular destination in recent years, this dynamic neighborhood is bursting with activity: architecture & design studios, converted warehouse condos, trendy eateries, art galleries and more, all while maintaining a distinctly Boston historic texture.

Eating Sweetgreen’s mostly-organic fare makes you feel like you’re nourishing the heck out of yourself. That’s a great way to feel, even when it costs 10 smackers. They’ve got something to suit everyone, from vegans to carnivores, so unless you don’t eat vegetables you’re set. Rather than wait in a line that often snakes out the door around lunchtime, order online before 10am and your salad, bowl or soup will be waiting for you. Sensitive flowers beware, most of Sweetgreen’s dressings will leave you feeling garlicky. If you’ve got an afternoon meeting, opt for the balsamic vinaigrette or olive oil with a squeeze of lemon.
