The North Center neighborhood hearkens back to the time when every community had its own butcher, tailor, blacksmith and, it being Chicago, a brewery. It can feel a little off the beaten-path, but rest assured, it’s well worth the journey. There are plenty of old gems that make up some of the neighborhood's best kept secrets & just as many up-and-coming restaurants & shops you'll be happy to explore.
Retro-themed coffee shop serving up gluten-free, vegetarian & vegan treats for all to eat!
If you’re looking for a place with charm, comfort food and neighborhood history (as seen on Wayne’s World), Chicago Joe’s won’t disappoint. The kitsch memorabilia hangs wall-to-wall—inside and out—and the dimly lit atmosphere makes for a relaxing experience. Because the restaurant is a converted house, the split dining areas make you feel like you’re eating and drinking at a friend’s place. Outdoor seating is available during the summer and word on the street is Sunday brunch is their jam.
