These two neighbouring areas are where locals live, eat out and live their day to day. Less bustle than the city center and less hyped than the Belgian Quarter - Kwartier Latäng & Rathenauviertel are home to the "student party mile", traditional Kölsch food, old-school Colognians, beautiful shops and the odd historical landmark. Great areas for foodies to explore or to find the perfect spot to sit back and relax.
Built in 1899, destroyed in 1938 and rebuilt in the 1950’s, the Roonstraße Synagogue is the center of the Jewish communities of Cologne. The neo-Romanesque building is a beautiful landmark for the area. You can take a tour of the Synagogue in German, just don't forget your kippa!
