As Yelp reviewers attest, the Lucy staff are very friendly and attentive. There's a totally relaxed vibe here, especially when sitting in the lounge area with low tables and sofas. Our waiter brought us a glass of honey wine to get us started and was eager to educate about the menu. We ordered Quanta Fitfit, dehydrated beef mixed with spongy pieces of Injera (flatbread made of Teff Flour) which is a savory, chewy Ethiopian comfort dish; and Yedoro Watt, chicken served in a clay pot with a mild chili bbq sauce and an egg, is hearty and rich, like mole. The coffee ceremony is a MUST. We suggest ordering upon arrival, so the service can be phased throughout your meal. Green (unroasted) coffee beans are browned in a small pan, ground by hand, then boiled in a clay pot called a Jebena. As incense burns the attendant slowly pours small cups of strong yet mellow coffee. We were delighted when the chef and other staff members stopped by to chat and share the pot with us.
