For years the neglected child of central Lisbon, Intendente is enjoying a lively rebirth. Known for its rough edges, shady economic activities and its multicultural ambience, it's now embracing grit in a positive way. The neighborhood includes one of the city's biggest estates of late 19th century Portuguese-style architecture. Gentrification is well underway, but it is balanced with a thriving activist and cooperative scene. This unique national movement was reborn after the depression because the country's youth didn't give in under tough circumstances.
A gritty, interested place to grab a bite or mount your own bike
Counterculture and chill
The name being a perfect portuguese pun on its location, 2 à Esquina is actually pretty serious when it comes to food. They are masters at mixing the traditional with the experimental, giving new nuances to the established great national flavors based on detailed seasoning and freshness. Great to bring your +1 , it's even better to share a table with a round of friends and grab a bite of the whole menu.
