Terreaux

You’re in the center of Lyon, Place des Terreaux, where tourists and locals mingle around the Bartholdi fountain. This large public square is surrounded by the City Hall and the Museum of Fine Arts. Daniel Buren has marked some of his famous stripes, but time has done its work and the restoration of the square is a touchy matter. Dive into the small surrounding streets to find out the gems of this district, one of the densest in Europe. Strolling around, you will come across the Place Sathonay, the peaceful courtyard of the Museum of Fine Arts; Great restaurants; galleries and designer boutiques to check out. You’ll realize there is no reason to go to the square other than to use the metro.

Marché des bouquinistes

Address
9 Quai de la Pêcherie

We love the Saône river bank book market for its privileged location and for its great view on the coloured facades of the Old Lyon. It’s the most charming place to stroll on a sunny weekend. Overall, you can have a 15km walk along the run of the Saône, among cyclists, joggers and open-air artworks.
