The East Village has been many things: punk rock, hardcore, gangster, folk, anti-folk, Nuyorican, experimental, beat, post-modern, Warholian. It even hit Broadway in Rent. Today, developers are trying to move in but locals are fighting to hold their ground in Alphabet City.
Think coffee to go but instead of coffee you’re sipping on meaty-flavored broth.
If you want a really good cocktail come here. The cocktail menu lists drinks on an x-y axis of how refreshing-spiritious or comforting-adventurous they are. The atmosphere is loungey and has somewhat of a tiki-inspired feel. There isn’t much of a food menu but the main focus here again is the cocktail. Overall, good music and drinks with a speakeasy feel.
