Known for the historic brick buildings built in the 1800’s and the Tribune Clock Tower, this area offers great eateries and local brews. People often visit to explore the Oakland foodie scene in a slower pace setting where street food is served up restaurant style and communal tables are the standard. Artisans here revel in the grittiness and ever-changing culture in this deep-rooted part of Oakland, offering something for everyone.
The competition among Oakland’s bar scene is fierce, but new-comer Mad Oak has already turned heads with its tasty cocktails and expansive beer selection. We love to sample the unique sour brews or grab a velvety-smooth nitro beer. But our favorite thing about this place has to be the mammoth rooftop patio. It’s the perfect spot to watch an A’s game or make the most of a sunny Oakland afternoon.
