East Perth

This inner city suburb hugs Claise Brook and Claisebrook Cove – waterways that originally serviced the city’s industrial pursuits. A compact pocket of land that was once home to the power station, gasworks, brickworks, railway yard, engine sheds and colonial cemetery. Today, East Perth is an eclectic mix of light industry, commercial offices, converted warehouses, townhouses, hotels, cafés and shops.

Rose-coloured glasses not required. This cute-as-a-button corner deli is in the pink without them. You’ll blush with happiness. We could continue with cringeworthy colour references, but suspect the super friendly gals who run Rose Deli might see red*. Their motto is ‘fresh and fast’. They open early and offer a tasty range of breakfasts, baguettes, salads and sweet treats until mid-afternoon. Teas, coffees, organic juices and some of the prettiest bottled and boxed drinks we’ve ever seen in a deli chiller. Do visit. You’ll be tickled pink if you do. (*We’re sorry.)
