St. Petersburg East

Downtown St. Petersburg is the city’s heart - chock full of independent boutiques, art galleries, museums, parks, and a food scene that can contend with the likes of this country’s metropolitan meccas. It is hard to believe that St. Petersburg was once known as, “Heaven’s Waiting Room.” Today, downtown St. Pete is a hub for creatives of all kinds, whether they are traditional artists, graphic designers, curators of local treasures, or chefs. Downtown St. Pete also houses some of Florida’s best craft breweries, a selection of some of the world’s best surrealist artwork (thank you, Salvador Dali), and so much more. The city cultivates a feeling of unprecedented growth, while maintaining the intimacy of a tight-knit local community. In short, there is nothing quite like it.

In the 1900s, St. Petersburg was known as “The City of Green Benches,” when nearly 2,500 benches lined the city’s downtown streets. Passersby were encouraged to slow their roll and take a seat, often leading to conversations with friends old and new. It is this rich history that inspired Green Bench Brewing Co.’s inception. Today, the brewery is a must-stop spot among craft beer lovers and connoisseurs alike. Located on Baum Avenue in between 13th Street and 11th Street, Tampa Bay residents flock to the brewery regularly, sharing a pint with family and friends in the taproom and outdoor beer garden. Green Bench carries no less than 15 beers on a tap, and 11 bottled brews to drink or take home – take your pick.
