St. Petersburg East

Downtown St. Petersburg is the city’s heart - chock full of independent boutiques, art galleries, museums, parks, and a food scene that can contend with the likes of this country’s metropolitan meccas. It is hard to believe that St. Petersburg was once known as, “Heaven’s Waiting Room.” Today, downtown St. Pete is a hub for creatives of all kinds, whether they are traditional artists, graphic designers, curators of local treasures, or chefs. Downtown St. Pete also houses some of Florida’s best craft breweries, a selection of some of the world’s best surrealist artwork (thank you, Salvador Dali), and so much more. The city cultivates a feeling of unprecedented growth, while maintaining the intimacy of a tight-knit local community. In short, there is nothing quite like it.

Gourmet ice pops abound at The Hyppo, located on Central Avenue, between 6th Street South and 7th Street South. If you are in the mood for something sweet, we suggest the Caramel Apple or Bananas & Grace pops. If you aren’t afraid to try something more outside of the box, try a Dark Roast Espresso pop, or Ginger Plum. Seriously, there is something here for everyone. The ice pops aren’t event the best part. The Hyppo employees play a game with their loyal Instagram followers, in which they hide a token that reads, “One Free Pop” somewhere in downtown St. Petersburg. Followers can take a hint from the photo and accompanying riddle, but the rest is up to them. The one who finds the token gets (you guessed it) a free ice pop.
