Pyrmont

Pyrmont has come a long way since it’s early days in Sydney’s history. It used to be a working class suburb and in the early 19th Century it was even considered a slum. Not anymore. It’s now a cultural hot spot full of fancy restaurants, creative agencies, awesome pubs and the Star – Sydney’s only casino… for now. Pyrmont is an old suburb that’s received a bit of a face-lift and it’s well worth a look around.

Lunchtimes in Pyrmont are great for two things, eating and exercising - preferably not at the same time! And one of the better places to exercise - for free - is at Wentworth Park. Dating back to 1919, it’s railway archways house a fair few vagabonds, but don’t let that scare you off. For the active at heart, there’s a great little outdoor gym, a soccer field that hosts all sorts of “after-school” sports, and on Wednesdays there’s an organised lunchtime soccer competition; drop-ins welcome. Alternatively if relaxing is your game, grab a book, a patch of grass, and laze the day away.
