One of the sweetest, most tight-knit communities in the 718. Prospect Heights has seen much change in its time, which is visible in the architecture alone - the streets are lined with a mix of beautiful historic rowhouses and new luxury condos. Though small in size, it holds two of the borough’s largest institutions - the BK Museum and the BK Public Library - as well as the Barclays Center, home to the NBA's Brooklyn Nets. Over the past 15 years, we’ve witnessed the resurgence of restaurants, nightlife and shops, putting Prospect Heights on the grid as a beloved Brooklyn destination.
High-quality, tasty coffee and pastries in an airy, elegant space.
Every neighborhood has that one bar that all the locals love. The bar that has no frills, great service and good beers. The place that you can meet your friends on a Tuesday night, just cause. Affectionately called “Wash Co.” by its patrons, Washington Commons is a nondescript corner storefront on Washington Avenue. We like to lounge around their big, wooden, U-shaped bar and sip on one of over a dozen rotating beers on tap. The inside bar is a dark and cozy space but on sunny days, you can’t beat spending a chill afternoon with friends out back on their expansive patio. We recommend bringing some take-out food, buying some beers from the bar and letting the hours waste away.
