Nestled within hills and only 10 minutes northwest of Downtown LA, Silver Lake has been known to nurture musicians, independent artists, and writers. The neighborhood is peppered with iconic architecture by mid-century modernists such as John Lautner, Rudolph Schindler and Richard Neutra. The reservoir, although currently being drained, is an oasis within the city for people and nature. Alongside the neighborhood staples, Sunset Boulevard continues to flourish as a springboard for new shops and cafés. At this family-owned general store you'll want to have a coffee. While sipping, you'll peruse slowly and find a perfect gift and then you'll walk away with a bag with that gift and with something for yourself. It's that good here. It's floor to ceiling full of classics for her and him, French children's apparel, sophisticated kitchenware, fine apothecaries, stationery with a coffee shop. There's patio seating to enjoy your pastry and coffee with ease.
