Fremont is a small neighborhood on the north side of Lake Union known best for its old school hippies, and sweeping views of the Seattle skyline. In recent years Fremont has become home to some of the best restaurants and coffee shops in the city. Spend a little time here and you’ll understand why it’s affectionately known by it’s residents as “the center of the universe.”
The crown jewel of Fremont.
This former gasification plant is now the best park in Seattle. The plant shut down in 1956 but several pieces were left standing and have been incorporated in the park. Take a walk through the 19.1 acres of rolling hills that stretch down to the lake. If you’re in town on the 4th of July, this is the place to be.
