The Dundas West strip is in a constant state of flux, with new shops and restaurants popping up on a regular basis, while older establishments become neighbourhood institutions. Dundas West is a nice blend of Portuguese bakeries, cozy cafes, curated shops and hip bars, creating an eclectic mix of daytime and nighttime activities. The condo boom has yet to hit the strip, allowing Dundas West to keep it's edge.

Skateboarders across Toronto flock to Blue Tile Lounge, one of the premium skateboard shops in the city. It first opened in 1997 as a skate park, but after their landlord kicked them out, Blue Tile had a few locations in Markham before settling down in Dundas West. They have a curated selection of premium brands, while also making sure to carry local and Canadian made boards, apparel and accessories. You can often catch skaters doing ollies or grinding right in front of the shop.
