The Dundas West strip is in a constant state of flux, with new shops and restaurants popping up on a regular basis, while older establishments become neighbourhood institutions. Dundas West is a nice blend of Portuguese bakeries, cozy cafes, curated shops and hip bars, creating an eclectic mix of daytime and nighttime activities. The condo boom has yet to hit the strip, allowing Dundas West to keep it's edge.

John Booth and Arounna Khounnoraj are the masterminds behind bookhou, a small empire of handmade home and lifestyle goods. Bookhou started as an online business in 2002 and the brick and mortar storefront opened in 2008. The shop is light and airy showcasing Arounna’s patterned textiles and John’s woodwork. It’s a family affair and you can often see their kids watching their parents in the workshop at the back of the shop.
