District IX is one of the city’s fastest developing areas. The part inside Ferenc körút is a busy zone with the city’s most beautiful Market Hall, cafés, restaurants, and the spectacular Museum of Applied Arts. The area between Ferenc körút and Haller utca attracts tourists with great craft beers and cultural institutions, while the area behind Haller is still mainly industrial (with great architecture, though!).
Located in the Zwack factory, this museum introduces visitors to the history of the Zwack family and their famous invention: Unicum, a bitter liqueur, produced since 1790. When registering in advance, you may also visit the old distillery. And yes, you can buy a bottle of Unicum. Or two.
