Nestled at the bottom of 50 mile long Cayuga Lake and surrounded on three sides by hills, the city center looks up to Cornell University and Ithaca College and the older suburbs. If you love books, the smell of old books – collecting and finding rare reads and popular gems….visit Autumn Leaves, a treasure in Ithaca. A brightly lit old store space on the Commons, open late on weekend evenings, as every bookstore should be, it offers the wide variety of non-fiction and fiction you would expect in a college town. The selection of books is fantastic, the layout is organized and logical, they also offer a decent selection of music and have a cafe on the second floor. A knitting group meets there on Saturday mornings; in case you're interested.
