Downtown Ithaca

In Ithaca, Downtown really is down town. Nestled at the bottom of 50 mile long Cayuga Lake and surrounded on three sides by hills, the city center looks up to Cornell University and Ithaca College and the older suburbs. There was a long-sustained rumor that the Little Rascals filmed their boxcar hill run on one of the tree-lined streets that heads straight into town, and when you visit you'll see why that was a hairy ride.

Ithaca Farmers' Market because is one of the best Farmers' Markets in the country. People in California, CALIFORNIA, rave about our farmers' market, so I guess we should too. Here's the deal, it's crazy popular so ditch your car and ride your bike on the Waterfront Trail. Plan on grabbing lunch, you will wait in line and it's worth it. The breakfast burritos are particularly good. Take your grub to the water's edge and sit among the willow tree roots, while kids play around you. Feed the ducks. It's pretty idyllic. The local high school held their prom at the market, which, rumor has it, was simply magical. You could get married there too, after hours, of course. Think fairy lights.
