Kent, Ohio is an historical town located on the Cuyahoga River twenty minutes east of Akron. It’s best known for Kent State and the events of 1970, but in recent years, the town has been expanding its restaurant scene, community events, and connection to the university, making it an exciting place to live. Known as the Tree City, the best time to be in Kent is fall for the changing leaves, and summer for all of the green—a welcome sight after the cold Ohio winter!
Locally owned bar + restaurant downtown.
Bicycle gear + repair shop.
Zephyr is the quintessential Kent bar. While it’s great year-round, it’s best experienced in the summer, when college is out and you can sit out on the patio. They have string lights on the outdoor decks, and you can order Taco Tontos (by phone) and pick it up at the window on the patio.
