Kent, Ohio is an historical town located on the Cuyahoga River twenty minutes east of Akron. It’s best known for Kent State and the events of 1970, but in recent years, the town has been expanding its restaurant scene, community events, and connection to the university, making it an exciting place to live. Known as the Tree City, the best time to be in Kent is fall for the changing leaves, and summer for all of the green—a welcome sight after the cold Ohio winter!
Locally owned bar + restaurant downtown.
Bicycle gear + repair shop.
Tree City is the perfect place for hunkering down to work. They have a slick, industrial atmosphere countered by natural elements, like the fireplace sculpture and framed plant pressings. They’re known and loved for their peanut butter + jelly sandwiches and seasonal alcoholic coffee drinks (they sell bottled wine + beer as well!).
