Scott's Addition

Just call it Richmond’s Pied Piper. Scott’s Addition, the gritty industrial neighborhood buffeted by the Museum District to the south and Northside to the north, is in the midst of a super-charged renaissance, enticing businesses and individuals alike to live, work, and play within its vibrant urban confines. Buoyed by historic tax credits, an unbeatable central location, and constant buzz, the neighborhood boasts a dynamic fusion of grit and panache: casual joints and gourmet eateries, upscale boutiques and eclectic antique shops, sleek apartments housed in renovated warehouses, and a host of creative and industrial businesses. But our little secret is out, thanks to national recognition as a premiere destination courtesy of the five craft breweries, two cideries, a meadery, and a whiskey distillery within these 152 acres.

James Beard award-winning chef Peter Chang  is mysterious, but his M.O. is well known. He pulls into existing Chinese restaurants, transforms and trains the kitchen to his Sichuan-style, and then he’s gone, off to lend his talented touch to another spot. And this is exactly what he did at his incredibly popular Short Pump location. So popular in fact that he was inspired to open yet another location closer to downtown in booming Scott’s Addition at the Hofheimer Building. It’s quickly becoming a favorite in his growing empire, especially since it’s one of few that boasts a full bar.
