Scott's Addition

Just call it Richmond’s Pied Piper. Scott’s Addition, the gritty industrial neighborhood buffeted by the Museum District to the south and Northside to the north, is in the midst of a super-charged renaissance, enticing businesses and individuals alike to live, work, and play within its vibrant urban confines. Buoyed by historic tax credits, an unbeatable central location, and constant buzz, the neighborhood boasts a dynamic fusion of grit and panache: casual joints and gourmet eateries, upscale boutiques and eclectic antique shops, sleek apartments housed in renovated warehouses, and a host of creative and industrial businesses. But our little secret is out, thanks to national recognition as a premiere destination courtesy of the five craft breweries, two cideries, a meadery, and a whiskey distillery within these 152 acres.

When this Charlottesville-based brewery decided to set up an outpost in Richmond, they dubbed it the RVA Collab House. Its mission? To create amazing beer collaborations with the city’s other breweries, restaurants, musicians and artists, businesses, and nonprofits. A relative newcomer to the Scott’s Addition beer scene, Three Notch’d is slowly making good on that promise, bringing pints to the masses with a historical bent. (There’s the “Minute Man” New England Style IPA as well as the “No Veto” English Brown Ale.) Even better? The brewery is housed in Gather, the neighborhood’s first coworking space.
