Scott's Addition

Just call it Richmond’s Pied Piper. Scott’s Addition, the gritty industrial neighborhood buffeted by the Museum District to the south and Northside to the north, is in the midst of a super-charged renaissance, enticing businesses and individuals alike to live, work, and play within its vibrant urban confines. Buoyed by historic tax credits, an unbeatable central location, and constant buzz, the neighborhood boasts a dynamic fusion of grit and panache: casual joints and gourmet eateries, upscale boutiques and eclectic antique shops, sleek apartments housed in renovated warehouses, and a host of creative and industrial businesses. But our little secret is out, thanks to national recognition as a premiere destination courtesy of the five craft breweries, two cideries, a meadery, and a whiskey distillery within these 152 acres.

At 70 years old, The Dairy Bar is more than a family-friendly restaurant; it’s an institution. Housed in one of the first buildings to grace Scott’s Addition, the diner lives and breathes kitsch--hanging on the walls are pictures of the Dairy Bar cow colored in by the kids who have gobbled up any number of the restaurant’s homey dishes: burgers, grilled cheese, milkshakes, and a seemingly endless array of breakfast platters. Grab a booth, order up, and, get ready to chow down.
