NOTA

Neighborhood of the Arts (NOTA) is no doubt the cultural epicenter of Rochester. Back in 2000 it experienced a rebirth when a trail of public art, visual exhibits and installations popped up. ARTwalk, as it was and still is known, catapulted the tired neighborhood into a vibrant, bustling section of town. Now, there is no shortage of art studios, galleries, restaurants, cafes, fitness studios, living spaces, and creative-class businesses occupying salvaged industrial factory buildings and Victorians. NOTA’s diversity of artists, small business owners, and established cultural gems make it a sanctuary for all who want and expect a little more from their community.

Never has existed a more suitable name for a restaurant. Although in this instance, the definition should be, “to eat all the tastiest foods.” Because that’s exactly what you’ll want to do here where sociable is the name of the game. Between shareable plates and suppers that feed up to four—looking at you 34 oz Tomahawk Cut ribeye—there is something to satisfy all taste buds. And the cocktails? Killer. Our only suggestion—come really, really hungry.
