Downtown & Yaletown

Vancouver's dense and diverse centre is home to the city's main arts and cultural venues, sports stadiums, major shopping districts and the wild, rambunctious nightlife of the Granville Entertainment Row. To its immediate south-east, the former industrial lands of Yaletown have transformed since the 90's into one of the densest residential neighbourhoods in North America. Packed with great restaurants and fun little shops, and bounded by a scenic stretch of the False Creek waterfront, it is a must for any visitor to the city.

Vancouver's first micro-distillery dabbles in a variety of spirits, but specializes in gin. The owners are true gin enthusiasts and they love to share their passion. Sit at the bar to have a chat with them. Fridays are Gin & Tonic evenings, with a food truck parked outside. The G&T may be a ubiquitous drink, but it is so for a reason and no one makes it better. Try the cucumber variety, with the delicious Fever Tree tonic. Cocktail Saturdays are equally fun. Go for the "Dyson Sphere" (pear-infused gin cocktail) or the bourbon-barrel-gin-old-fashioned concoction "Duke". Side note: the distillery is named after a beautiful art installation in the park across the street by Pechet and Robb.
