Granville Island & Fairview

Even though Granville Island is one of the most visited places in Canada, it is the most intimate of busiest places. Distinctly influenced by its industrial and marine past, Granville Island and Fairview's core is about the one-of-a-kind shops that celebrate quality and heritage and are ok with watching fast trends sail by.

Nestled away in an industrial warehouse steps from the marina is The Lobster Man, one of the original tenants of the vibrant Granville Island. They know their stuff, having been in the business of selling live shellfish since 1977 and are Vancouver’s premier destination for live lobster and crab. Their 25,000 gallons of salt water is temporary home to Nova Scotia Lobster, Queen Charlotte Island Dungeness Crab, Alaskan king crab and a large variety of clams, scallops, mussels and oyster species. Live shellfish can be purchased and packed for travel for shipment around the world. OR, better yet, here’s Granville Islands best kept secret - Live crab and lobster can be cooked for you in their big steamer pots at no extra charge. Pick out a tasty critter, get them to cook it up and have a picnic seaside as the world floats by.
