Affectionately abbreviated as O4W, the neighborhood is steeped in Atlanta's history, most notably because it marks both the birthplace and final resting place of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Today, it is highlighted by some of the most interesting new developments in the city. The neighborhood is a proverbial melting pot of Atlantans with a number of unique offerings designed to suit any lifestyle. O4W helps stitch together the other neighborhoods around it and contains an eclectic mix of both old and new restaurants, shops, and parks.
Sure it looks like it's falling down from the outside, but this Atlanta staple hosts some of the best concerts and festivals in the city.
Highland Bakery is basically a neighborhood juggernaut. With a bakery in the front with lines upon lines of beautiful, delectable sweets, and a full table service restaurant in the back, this has been a neighborhood favorite for years. Accented by an absurdly understated exterior, the kindness of the staff and the warmth of the bakery's interior makes you fall in love with them every single time you walk in the door...which will undoubtedly be a lot.
