Historically being the original downtown of Dubai, Deira is still just as important today as it was during the city’s early beginnings. Located close to the Creek, which has been a source of international trade and commerce, Deira is home to a community of diverse cultures, religions, and dreams. Anyone who’s had the privilege of growing up in Dubai has definitely encountered Deira one way or another. A bustling area filled with shops, souks, street food and museums, Deira allows for experiencing the neighbourhood on foot, which is a rarity in Dubai. However, being mildly impacted by these significant changes, Deira has pretty much stood the test of time, looking the same and functioning as it always has, which is part of it’s beauty and charm.
