Covent Garden is a popular tourist spot that is defined between Long Acre (north), Strand (south), Drury Lane (east) and St Martin’s Lane (west). It quite literally has a colourful past, known for its fashionable fruit and vegetable market then later becoming a red light district. Nowadays you can still experience the beautiful buildings and hidden windy streets that house many major cultural venues, independent shops and cafes, world-class restaurants and high-end hotels.
Whilst the original Magma opened up on Earlham Street back in 2000, it’s the newest, larger shop on Shorts Gardens we like to visit most. On the ground level you’ll find design led books, cool toys and stationery. In the basement level is an ever-changing exhibition space and a brilliant range of magazines, from international fashion favourites to more niche foodie essay collections.
