Eagle Rock

A huge boulder overlooks Eagle Rock from the north and the shadow it casts when the sun hits just right gives the neighborhood its name. The eagle, though, isn’t the only reason for its Small Town USA feel. Eagle Rock Blvd and Colorado Blvd are the only main veins where restaurants dotting along give the town its growing, and unassuming, foodie reputation - even if many of them have been around for solid decades. Since 1914, Occidental College has attracted scholars, and additionally, artists have also felt the draw. There’s a refreshingly slower pace, compared to the rest of LA, that completes the Craftsman house and Spanish bungalow setting.

Found Coffee is surprisingly one of Eagle Rock’s few independent coffee spots and must definitely be the only one to have a parking lot. The modern and open space with floor to ceiling windows is filled with rustic styling and turquoise accents except for the sunny yellow La Marzocco espresso machine taking center stage. It’s the big smiley face of espresso machines that starts your day off right with Demitasse roasted espresso. Creme Caramel LA pastries, San Francisco’s T-We blended teas and Found merchandise, like clever canvas cup sleeves, are also available. Free WiFi.
