Eagle Rock

A huge boulder overlooks Eagle Rock from the north and the shadow it casts when the sun hits just right gives the neighborhood its name. The eagle, though, isn’t the only reason for its Small Town USA feel. Eagle Rock Blvd and Colorado Blvd are the only main veins where restaurants dotting along give the town its growing, and unassuming, foodie reputation - even if many of them have been around for solid decades. Since 1914, Occidental College has attracted scholars, and additionally, artists have also felt the draw. There’s a refreshingly slower pace, compared to the rest of LA, that completes the Craftsman house and Spanish bungalow setting.

Milkfarm specializes in cheese, lots of cheese, and they have the passion to show for it. Let them show you the ways while they feed you samples. There is no doubt you’ll gain a deeper appreciation and up the ante on your soon-to-be-famous cheese plates. Independent producers of charcuterie, jams, fresh baked bread, olives and cornichons are also available and are sourced mainly in California if not specifically Los Angeles. This is where you want to come before your next party or picnic since they do the legwork for you. Have a sandwich or a cheese and charcuterie board along with a glass of wine if you decide to dine in.
