Davis Square

Officially designated as a square by the City of Somerville in 1883, Davis Square has a long history as a nearby neighbor to downtown Boston. However, it wasn't until the late 1980's that the square and surrounding blocks began to boom, after the MBTA extended the Red line to Davis. Today, Davis is a vibrant nightlife and dining district bustling with a unique mix of hipsters, college kids, young parents, and professionals. It's got everything one might need—but if not—you'll find yourself a short five stops on the T to Park Street Station and downtown Boston.

A neighborhood favorite since 1999 for vegan-friendly fare, and of course coffee. Although Diesel is across the street from a large Starbucks, this coffee shop has thrived. Busy all day with remote workers and casual customers, Diesel has a wide-range of brews and blends for any coffee lover. They also have a pool table and photo booth, just to mix things up a bit. If you need a caffeine rush, this is the place to go. *Pro Tip: It’s a great place to sip and work, but the internet access will cost you by the hour.*
