Davis Square

Officially designated as a square by the City of Somerville in 1883, Davis Square has a long history as a nearby neighbor to downtown Boston. However, it wasn't until the late 1980's that the square and surrounding blocks began to boom, after the MBTA extended the Red line to Davis. Today, Davis is a vibrant nightlife and dining district bustling with a unique mix of hipsters, college kids, young parents, and professionals. It's got everything one might need—but if not—you'll find yourself a short five stops on the T to Park Street Station and downtown Boston.

I’d call this the best ice cream you’ll find around Boston, but I’m biased. They have the best non-dairy (and vegan) options, and there is always a line of satisfied customers. Be prepared to wait in line but don’t be too intimidated—the line does move quickly. *Pro Tip: Peak hours are between 6-9pm in the summer, but it’s worth the wait.*
