Davis Square

Officially designated as a square by the City of Somerville in 1883, Davis Square has a long history as a nearby neighbor to downtown Boston. However, it wasn't until the late 1980's that the square and surrounding blocks began to boom, after the MBTA extended the Red line to Davis. Today, Davis is a vibrant nightlife and dining district bustling with a unique mix of hipsters, college kids, young parents, and professionals. It's got everything one might need—but if not—you'll find yourself a short five stops on the T to Park Street Station and downtown Boston.

Hands-down the best Mexican food in Davis Square. Known for it’s high-end Mexican cuisine and cocktail offering, the burro’s bar is almost more busy than the restaurant. If you want a mouth-watering preview, check-out their Instagram account: [@paintedburro](https://instagram.com/paintedburro/) but call ahead early, because you’ll need reservations. *Pro-Tip: the bar is fast with drinks if you happen to get there before your reservation.*
