Schönbrunn

You couldn’t find two neighbourhoods less similar than these two, despite being directly connected through the Schoenbrunn Palace Gardens. Meidling has often been called “Gelebte Vielfalt”, which literally means “Diversity at Work.” Hietzing, on the other hand, is considered one of the most upmarket neighbourhoods in the city. You won’t find many tourists aside from in the palace gardens itself whilst roaming around this part of Vienna. If you’re more curious about how the locals really live, join me in discovering authentic food joints, quirky museums and afternoons spent in the café, watching people relax and read the daily news. Let’s go!

Alt Wiener Schnapps Museum

Well, why not, right?! Why shouldn’t you go to a museum where you get booze served up with your new nuggets of knowledge? The museum was founded in 1875 and has been a family business ever since. Here, you’ll get to see the entire process of distillation, the original office rooms and even do some tasting too. It’s also located in a traditional Viennese building true old style! Damn cool. Oh, yes, this is a popular spot for group trips.
