You couldn’t find two neighbourhoods less similar than these two, despite being directly connected through the Schoenbrunn Palace Gardens. Meidling has often been called “Gelebte Vielfalt”, which literally means “Diversity at Work.” Hietzing, on the other hand, is considered one of the most upmarket neighbourhoods in the city. You won’t find many tourists aside from in the palace gardens itself whilst roaming around this part of Vienna. If you’re more curious about how the locals really live, join me in discovering authentic food joints, quirky museums and afternoons spent in the café, watching people relax and read the daily news. Let’s go!
Fancy some beers? And some real Austrian cuisine? Brandauer’s is usually a busy place filled with laughter and people who like to go out in a more downtoearth manner. There’ll be no wild dancing on the table, but you’ll hear people hit the tables quite hard with their Krügerls the Austrian way of calling a pint glass. By coming here, you’ll quickly understand why Austrians love beer so much!
