Schönbrunn

You couldn’t find two neighbourhoods less similar than these two, despite being directly connected through the Schoenbrunn Palace Gardens. Meidling has often been called “Gelebte Vielfalt”, which literally means “Diversity at Work.” Hietzing, on the other hand, is considered one of the most upmarket neighbourhoods in the city. You won’t find many tourists aside from in the palace gardens itself whilst roaming around this part of Vienna. If you’re more curious about how the locals really live, join me in discovering authentic food joints, quirky museums and afternoons spent in the café, watching people relax and read the daily news. Let’s go!

Trzesniewski

This is a very special place. Ok, I know it’s a Viennese chain, but hand on my heart, it’s the cutest one. The magic of it starts way back in history. Imagine the second world war, where no one had money. In order to sustain his place and maintain the quality of groceries,Trzesniewski made the portions smaller. Imagine this as a luxury joint for a tighter budget. Here you’ll get ridiculously small canapés with delicious spreads and an even more ridiculously sized glass of beer called Pfiff! Prost!
