For better or for worse, South Kensington is a neighborhood in transition. Fancy new developments are popping up everywhere, but like so many areas of Philadelphia, the true appeal of South Kensington comes from it’s rich history and amalgamation of cultures. Although South Kensington isn’t (yet) the tourist destination that neighboring Northern Liberties or Fishtown are touted as, it still has much to offer.

The owner of this establishment has a reputation for being a little kooky, but would you really want to buy your vinyl from any other type? Borderline Records looks as if it belongs on South Street, which makes it a unique addition to this neighborhood. Don’t expect anything glamorous—or organized, even—but if you’re on the hunt for reasonably priced, classic records, this may just be your place.
