For better or for worse, South Kensington is a neighborhood in transition. Fancy new developments are popping up everywhere, but like so many areas of Philadelphia, the true appeal of South Kensington comes from it’s rich history and amalgamation of cultures. Although South Kensington isn’t (yet) the tourist destination that neighboring Northern Liberties or Fishtown are touted as, it still has much to offer.
Made-in-Philadelphia jeans, totes, belts, aprons and more.
A reuse store that focuses on creative materials like fabric, wood, art supplies and more.
The folks behind ReAnimator are serious about coffee. They source the beans from around the world, roast it here in South Kensington, and serve it up any way you like: espresso, pour-over, drip, iced, and if you’re lucky you might stop by on a day when they’re offering affogato. The bright, open industrial space is serious business as well, and a perfect pit stop if you’re heading over to Crane Arts across the street.
